Folded surface from a single polyline?

Hi there,
Im trying to create a curved surface perpendicular to a solid to clip it by drawing a polyline with tangents on the slicer surface. The surface mimics my polyline geometry for a distance before reverting back to more global trend so my workaround is to make 3 or 4 paralell lines at different elevations to get the surface to hold the shape i want. So my question is can i get a surface that stays perpendicular to my polyline without having to make extra lines to ensure i get a consistent shape that stays perpendicular to my tangents?
